The world is infinite.

You are to explore this wrong, dead land for as long as you like, occasionally hearing sounds from outside your field of view. Is something following you?
Try to find the secrets of the world. Why are there these ruins? What's the monument in the distance? What do the notes mean?

Playtime: However long you like. Average is 10-30 Minutes.
The experience ends at whatever time you like, just stop moving.
I hope you enjoy.

Update: I have one minor complaint. The distance at which ruins spawn should probably be a bit further from the player, as many of them seem to suddenly pop into existence only a few hundred feet away. And increasing that distance might also allow for much larger but much less common types of ruins to be included, like some super long bridge/wall etc. that takes the player several minutes to reach the end of.
Thank you for the feedback, when I update it next I'll make sure to change/add that.
The perpetual sense of dread (combined with unexplained shrieking and whooshing sounds) is really effective here; honestly even better than most backrooms games. I walked for what had to have been two or three miles, and that thin rectangle monument didn't budge. Makes you wonder how big it really is...
Over all, a really polished experience for the very first build of a game. No bugs that I know of, either.
